Update

I have had so many friends share uplifting and inspiring thoughts with me - so I guess the idea of posting about how I've been feeling wasn't a bad one! Today has been such a good (mental health) day, and I even had a few "The Magic of Motherhood" moments. But I'm still super sick with this cough of death and I am so tired it hurts. So I'll have to fill you all in another day. Until then, you are wonderful, just the way you are!

Who am I?

I'm the seventh of eight children of two absolutely amazing parents who are in the midst of their 51st year of marriage and are pondering how to make a fourth mission work. I'm also a wife of seven years, a mother to two young boys, and a full-time employee of my local school district.

Why am I here?

I never thought I would be a working mom, and I struggle with it - a LOT. But my husband and I both have medical conditions that require medication (ADHD and Type 1 diabetes, respectively), and my job as a teacher provides much better health benefits for our family than his job options would. So I find myself working full-time, with no change in sight. And it's hard.

(PLEASE NOTE: I am in no way suggesting being a full-time stay at home mom is not hard. What I am saying is that my current experience is very difficult, and often lonely.)

Where am I going?

In my dreams, I'm working toward a future in which my husband supports our family and I work part-time, if at all. In reality, I'm going insane trying to find a way to mentally/emotionally balance my need to work with my need to be a good mother and live the gospel fully. I hope I find other women in similar situations and we are able to help each other along the way.
